Beaconsfield U8 and U9s both won in the Marlow Big Bash on Sunday.

Beaconsfield U9 Bash had a great day winning all of their matches.

First up were Maidenhead & Bray where the boys had a comprehensive 55 run victory over the 6 overs. Next up were Cookham, this was a much lower scoring match. The boys bowled sensible lines and batted well to win a close game. The final group match was against Chenies & Latimer who we have had some very good games against in the league. We were always in control in this game and won an intense match. In the final we played Gerrards Cross. After losing the toss and being put into bat, we were up against it when we lost early wickets. The batsmen regrouped and posted a competitive target but we would have to bowl well to contain their batsmen. Contain them we did, taking wickets at regular intervals to win by 6 runs.

The boys acquitted themselves really well and what impressed the most was the bowling and fielding. Not a single catch dropped. Well done!

Beaconsfield U8 Stars beat Chobham, Gerrards Cross and Maidenhead & Bray in their group games before chasing down Chenies & Latimers total in final to win by 2 runs.

A very impressive performance as most of the boys have never played in a tournament or formal match before. The U8 Strikers also have a good tournament improving throughout to win a close group game at the end.

Well done Teams - a great performance!
