146 run partnership for the 6th wicket sets Beaconsfield on its way to a 104 run victory.

Beaconsfield made it back-to-back league victories thanks to a resounding 104 run victory at home to High Wycombe 2's.

On winning the toss, the home side had no hesitation in batting first but found themselves 30-3 after 12 overs with the loss of Walker, Harrison & Thomas all to Dan Senior. Adam Francis (43) and Jeremy Suter began rebuilding the Beaconsfield innings with a partnership of 74 before after dispatching Warner for 4 boundaries in an over, Francis misjudged the length of one and was clean bowled. Mark Morgan, playing against his old club didn't last long, top-edging Burden which brought David Heavyside to the crease to join Suter.

The partnership started slowly before a couple of big hits from Heavyside off Burden to the road end saw the field spread. Sensible batting from the pair saw easy singles picked up throughout as well as big blows from both batsman towards the end of the innings picked up the momentum. Heavyside reached his 50 at a run a ball before accelerating as the pair put on over 100 in the last 10 overs as they were aided by some poor fielding from the visiting team. Heavyside eventually fell for 86 in the final over having smashed 7 sixes to end a brilliant 146 run partnership. Suter was there till the end finishing on a superb 93*, his highest score for the 1st XI and allowing the innings to finish on 253-6 off the 52 overs.

In response, Wycombe started positively through Stevens & Robinson despite a good opening spell from Jon Mahood without any success. The opening pair put on in excess of 50 before Tamoor Hussain entered the attack to remove Stevens. Robinson however looked to attack the bowling wherever possible and it was only the introduction of Jason Harrison (4-13) who removed Robinson & Buckfield in quick time both to catches from Chris Thomas which turned the tide of the game. A sharp caught & bowled at the other end from skipper Sam Musk & the run-out of Curzon-Thompson effectively ended Wycombe's resistance before Mahood (3-44) returned to the attack to pick up the final 3 wickets and complete an excellent 104-run victory for the team.
