The Committee and all at Beaconsfield Cricket Club would like to congratulate Stewart Easterbrook, who was awarded the Cricket Collective Metro Bank Award for 2025 for growing girls' cricket at grassroots level in Bucks.
From its inception in 2017 with a group of 27 girls, Stewart and his team of Age Group Managers, coaches and parent volunteers have worked together to make girls’ cricket a fun and rewarding sport, with numbers increasing to 200 in 2025. Come down to the club on a Friday night in the summer and you will see what Stewart and his team are achieving and the hundreds of smiles on the faces of the girls and the volunteers who help to build this remarkable achievement.
Highlights of the journey Stewart has masterminded have included: Charlotte Edward's training session in 2018; The first Bucks Cup win in 2020 for the Under 13; The U18's reaching the Regional Final of the National U19 cup in 2024; the first U16/15 tour to Gloucestershire; and Friday night show matches in front of a packed pavilion. As well as success on the field what satisfies Stewart is seeing "friendships built through cricket".
Stewart will now be put forward to the National Award, to be announced on 7th November
