26th May 2026 saw the 10th and final time of the 6-side day, raising money for the two charities (Food for the Hungry and Bucks Youth Cricket Trust) in memory of our son, Jeremy.

The final tournament was won by BCC off the penultimate ball. This was a fitting end to the 10 tournaments held over the last 12 years. This year we raised just over £3,000 for the two charities, resulting in a grand total of £17,246 over the 12 years.

On the top of the trophy bat is a quote that epitomised Jeremy’s philosophy to cricket:
“Cricket is not about winning or losing, it is about playing the game with manners and sportsmanship. Anything else is just not cricket.”

Every tournament has been played with great spirit, friendship and sportsmanship. It has been lovely experiencing this year on year.

Jeremy’s bat records the winners over the years (see picture); Dr Challoner’s won 4 out of the first 5 events, prior to covid. Subsequently the event has been won by Knotty Green CC, SportsNut, and Swansea University Current Players twice. BCC won once before covid and won this final event.

The highest score from an innings of 5x 8 ball overs was 123 and lowest 33. There were two rain affected events, but on both occasions the final was played in full. Mostly we have been blessed with fine weather.

A final and big thank you to the club and its volunteers, umpires, scorers, raffle prize donators and caterers for supporting Margot and I in this event over the years. It would not have been possible without you all.
