Last Sunday was a huge day for girls' cricket at Beaconsfield - our first ever U18 Academy match. We have entered a team into the Home Counties Women's League, so this was the first taste of senior cricket for most of our girls.
We bowled and fielded very well, restricting Steventon Women's 1st team to 91 all out. An impressive effort given our girls were mostly drawn from the U15 and U13 age groups today. We then put on an extremely mature performance with the bat, reaching the required total with 7 wickets and over 10 overs to spare. A brilliant effort. We now have a great pathway for girls cricket - covering every age group, from Year 1 to adult.
Very well done to the girls. We couldn't have wished for a better performance in our first ever match

Following on from our promotion to Home Counties WCL Div 2 at the end of last season, our women are playing longer format matches for the first time. Fantastic work from our women who won their first 30 over game against Deddington last week. Special mention to 16 year old Georgie for her 60
