Practice makes perfect?!

Whilst the Bash team were playing on one side of Coleshill pitch, the Blast team were on the other, equally enjoying the gorgeous location that is Coleshill!
We were put into bat after losing the toss and started amazingly with "Henry's Hammer" planting a ball over square leg for 6 in the first over! Paired with Tom B they moved our total on nicely to 224 for 1 after the first 4 overs. Arman and Ayaan were in next, with Arman demonstrating a liking for the legside boundary irrespective of where the ball was bowled! The score was moving along nicely to 246 for 2 after 8 overs. Max H and Huxley were in next, Huxley in his first ever cricket event (training or match) looked at ease but the game's glam shot moment for me was Max's superb cover drive for four, the only boundary on the offside all day! Ollie, Max B and Zaki moved the socre along still further and as the last pair went in we were on 273 for 3. Tom E and Dylan closed the innings out well, with Tom E enjoying some lusty blows through the leg side and we finished on 301 for 3.

When it was our turn to field Arman deserves mention for his opening spell taking 2 wickets in his first over. Special mention should also go to Max B and Ollie M who both seemed to have eaten 3 weetabix this morning and were bowling quicker than i have ever seen before, both very unlucky not to take a wicket.
As we entered the last 4 overs Coleshill were 247 for 4, and it would have taken a huge effort to catch us. They tried hard but Max H closed the innings out with Coleshill ending on 266 for 4.

A very enjoyable morning, great hosts, lots of smiles and hopefully a little bit of improvement in the cricket! Few things to work on being how to run singles, that it is allowed to hit the ball on the offside and that the straighter we bowl the more chance of wickets, but what we did well (and Tom E especially) was congratulate each other and show good sportsmanship!
