Strong all round showing from BCC

A young Beaconsfield side took on Stoke Green CC on Sunday. Winning the toss and batting, Beaconsfield made an excellent start through Dylan McLeish (37) and Alex Collison-Hough (20). Faisal Siddiq then picked up where they left off, batting 32 overs from number 4 for a well compiled 68*. Alex Gorton provided some fireworks in his 47, with Sharjeel Tahir then closing the innings out with 24*. Beaconsfield closed on a very competitive 222/5 from 40 overs.

BCC started strongly with the ball, with Tom Beckford (2/14) and Scott Jackson (1/12) making early inroads as the pitch started to keep low. This was backed up by Ruari Catherwood-Smith (2/33) and Thomas McLeish with his first senior wickets (2/19). Sharjeel also struck whilst Alex Collison-Hough closed out the game with 2/13. Highlights in the field were an outstanding catch from Alex CH at cow to give Thomas McLeish a maiden senior wicket, followed by Thomas removing the set batsman with an excellent caught and bowled. The other highlight was from man of the match Faisal, who followed up his 68* with a sharp catch at long on - caught via his ribs and a bit of juggling.

All in all an excellent all round display - thanks to Hugh Suter for umpiring, always much appreciated!
