Beaconsfield have only themselves to blame for not progressing in the Bucks Cup this year. Having lost off the final ball to Chesham, a win at home to Bledlow Village would most likely have seen Beaconsfield progress into the semi-finals.
It wasn't to be however as a dismal fielding display, including at half a dozen missed opportunities and a lack of hunger allowed Bledlow to capitalise and post a dominating 250-7, including a handful of maximum's on to the A40. None of the bowlers really excelled, though Denzil Owen & James Rendell bowled well with minimal success whilst Jon Mahood picked up 3 wickets.
In response, all the batsman made starts but the stand-out performances were from Oli Rendell (60) with his maiden 1st XI half-century and some big hitting from Luke Shepherd (50*) that saw the chase to 230-6 and was made to look pretty easy.
Perhaps if it wasn't for the runs & chances given away in the field a comfortable, confidence boosting chase would have been the perfect momentum for the start of the league season.
