Hash Hussian leads the way with a century to help guide Beaconsfield to third striaght win

After back to back wins for the 2nds in their opening 2 league games confidence was high as its important to get a good start to the league campaign.

With 2 wins out 2 Beaconsfield’s aim of getting promoted straight away was a definite possibility. Beaconsfield came into 3rd game of the season with an extremely strong squad and after the heat wave of the last week, the groundsman at Beaconsfield was able to produce a superb wicket.

Beaconsfield won the toss for a third time in a row and elected to bat first on a pitch that looked like a gem to bat on, with openers Hash Hussain and Paul Sylvester wasting no time in exploiting the batter friendly conditions putting any bad bowl away with grace and elegance.

After ten over’s Beaconsfield were going at a rate of 6 an over and a big score was definitely on the cards. Burnham fought back with 2 wickets in as many balls, as first to go was Paul Sylvester who made 32 then Tamoor Hussian followed Paul back the very next ball for a duck.
The fall of 2 quick wickets didn’t stop Hash Hussain (100) and Andy Higgins (48) scoring freely and quickly. Hussain brought up an excellent 50 which included shots all round the ground, whilst the two batsmen shared an excellent partnership of 120 which included Hussain bring his 100 up with a quick run 2 down to mid on having hit 14 fours and 5 sixes.

After Hash Hussain was bowled on 100 incoming players continued to help contribute to an impressive score. Beaconsfield eventually declared on 260 for 6 after 49 over’s leaving Burnham requiring 261 off 51 over.

In reply Burnham openers of S. Ishaq (22) and N. Nadeem (39) made a steady start to their run chase. With a partnership developing Denzil Owen bowled Ishaq. The remaining Burnham batsmen came in and played freely trying to take advantage of the excellent batting conditions. However the Beaconsfield bowlers all bowled really well and took wickets at regular intervals. Owen broke the 2nd partnership of 30 by dismissing Y. Khan for 8. After Tamoor Hussain trapped F. Raiz LBW for duck Beaconsfield bowlers took full control. Excellent bowling performances from Oliver Bareham (3 for 23) and Mark Sullivan (3 for 46) tore through the middle order which lead Beaconsfield to take full control of the game. A spirited cameo from C. Ruane (26) delayed Beaconsfield’s victory but it was left to Abdullah Ghazi to come on and claim the final wicket in his first over.

A third straight victory has left Beaconsfield top of the table and has given them a solid foundation in which to build on and hopefully lead to promotion.
