BCC U15A League 1 v Marlow Town A , Thursday 30th June

Derek Cameron

Another win following a brilliant team effort by the U15 lads

BCC U15A completed their league 1 competitive season on 30th June with a game against Marlow Town A.

This was yet another excellent team effort and reflected the team spirit of all who played their part in securing a well earned win.

Marlow Town A batted first and scored 108 for 6 off 20 overs. Wickets were credited to Joey Tres (1), Kieron Roy (1), Jonny Masters (2), Ben Monson (1) and Flynn Harmen (1). Catches were taken keeping Marlow Town's score to a minimum by Callum O' Donoghue (2), Ben Monson (1), Harry Cameron (1), Tom Bickley (1) and Jonny Masters (1).

BCC then batted and despite losing early wickets, the rest of the team steadied the ship and reached the required 109 for the loss of 5 wickets. Batting performances of note are credited to Tom Bickley (39), Ben Monson (28), Kieron Roy (10), Flynn Harmen (9) and Harry Cameron (6). BCC achieved their target midway through the 19th over.

BCC U15A won the game by 5 wickets. Brilliant, well done lads. I think most parents were present to see this last U15A game and they too would have been as proud as I was.

Another great team performance and all lads who have played U15A cricket this season in League 1 should be proud of themselves. The statistics speak for themselves. Whilst they cannot win League 1, they might get to second or third dependent on other results still to be posted on the Bucks CB website. A fantastic season after being promoted to League 1 for the first time. Very well done Lads!

League 1 games:-

Played 7
Won 5
Lost 2
Total Points 85.

Two teams pulled out of the U15 League 1 this year - Farnham Royal CC and Bledlow Ridge CC

Chesham CC will win the League, they currently have played 6 matches and won all six with one to play. They currently have 90 points. High Wycombe will probably come second having lost 2 matches, like BCC, but with a slightly improved run rate.

The U15As also beat Chalfont St Giles in the U15 Cup after a bye in the first round, but then very unfortunately lost to Marlow Town following the toss of a coin. Ironically Marlow Town went on to lose in the final to Chesham, in, what I understand, was a fairly close game.

So, a great season for the U15s and thank you to all lads and parents
