Beaconsfield Vs Knotty Green U9s

On Weds 1st July Beaconsfield faced Knotty Green in our penultimate league game of the season. Beaconsfield lost the toss but thankfully were asked to bat first, rather than field in the heat. We started nervously and lost a couple of early wickets to some good catching from Knotty Green. However as the innings progressed we got more and more into out stride and started to build a good total whilst keeping the fall of wickets to a minimum. Some strong hitting and good running between the wickets towards the end of the innings meant that we were able to post a very impressive total of 324 for 5 wickets.

Once again Beaconsfield’s bowling and fielding was excellent from the outset. Our throwing to the wickets was particularly accurate and meant that we got a number of early run outs as Knotty Green looked to get some quick singles. As the innings progressed Knotty Green continued to struggle to score against our bowling and tight fielding and there was a steady fall of wickets that kept the score down. In the end Beaconsfield ran out easy winners with Knotty Green finishing on 198 for 18. The game was played on the hottest day of the year so far so well done to all the boys for coping so well and for another great win.
