Beaconsfield U9As open season with comprehensive victory

In damp conditions and against an inexperienced Marlow Town team, the team set a very impressive score of 309/2. Undoubtedly the number of wides and no balls helped but there was some great batting on a wet outfield which made boundaries difficult. Importantly we also only lost 2 wickets.

In there first competitive match the whole team bowled exceptionally well, fielded attentively and Ed keep wicket diligently throughout. We took 13 wickets with Freddie taking 4 wickets including 3 in 4 balls. The result was never in doubt and the Marlow team were well beaten before the end. Result Beaconsfield U9As won by 124 runs.

The win was impressive but what was particularly pleasing was the Marlow coach made a point of saying how impressive the team were and how polite and sporting they were. A credit to the club.

A great start and onto a much tougher game against Knotty Green on Wed.
