Our second game of the season took us to our close neighbours and rivals Knotty Green on a sunny Wednesday evening with first caps for Spencer, Matthew and Alex.
Edward won the toss and we decided to bat, all the boys batted sensibly but were perhaps a little too cautious on sneaking a quick single, in training we need to work on running between the wickets and clear calling.
Stand out performances with the bat were Freddie (12) and our final pair of Edward and Monty who both scored 13 from the last four overs resulting in a solid total of 238 for 5.
As we demonstrated against Marlow in our first game we are a very good bowling and fielding team and this continued against Knotty Green. All the boys really tried hard with their bowling and this was backed up with some great fielding including two excellent catches from Freddie and Edward. We managed to take 11 wickets in total from 7 bowlers. Special thanks to Rohan and Ben whose bowling in the last 4 overs against two very good batsmen was superb, resulting in a total for Knotty Green of 225 and another victory for Beaconsfield.
Thanks to our hosts who were very welcoming and demonstrated great sportsmanship, see you all on Friday for fun cricket.
