Catches Win Matches

On a pleasant Friday evening we won the toss and batted. We probably didn't take as many runs as we could, we lost a few too many wickets but benefitted from a few wides from Ballinger Waggoners. Seb and Adam batted well top scoring with 6 and 7 runs respectively.

We scored 236, a relatively low score, and I said to the team we would need to field well if we wanted to win. Ballinger started well , took their runs and lost only 1 wicket in the first 9 overs. They were well ahead on 242 at this stage. We then produced some amazing cricket bowling tightly, effecting a number of run outs with sharp fielding and taking some great catches. Our catching was exceptional and the catch of the match was closely fought but Nye claimed it with a ridiculous one handed catch at full stretch straight out of the IPL. As a result they lost 10 further wickets. Seb took 3, Hayden 2, Ben, Adam, Jayan, Nye and Jesse 1 each.

Adam and Jayan bowled tightly at the death and we secured well deserved 1 run victory.
