Summer sun is back!

After a week of rain it was lovely to be out in the sun and hosted by Coleshill which must be one of the most idylic cricket grounds in the area. Beaconsfield batted first, on a wicket that offered a bit for the bowlers, and Thomas and Deelan were straight into it during their pair moving the score to 223 without losing a wicket, a great start. Archie and Ewan took over and despite losing an early wicket moved the score to 241 after 8. Miles and Casper continued in the same vein, scoring well and not losing wickets to move the score to 260 after 12. A total of 300 was looking possible?! Barnaby and Harvey sneaked the score over 270, but then a couple of wickets pegged us back to 266 with 4 overs left. As always we need to be mindful of the opposition's death bowlers, and this proved to be the case as Roop and Jack lost a few wickets in the chase for that elusive 300 - we ended on 250 for 9. A competitive total but definitely match on!

When we took to the field we opened up with Miles and Deelan. Already Deelan is becoming "Demolition Deelan" with another 4 wicket haul! Miles chipped in with a wicket as well to make a great start for us. Tight bowling then from Archie, Thomas , Casper. Barnaby and Roop saw Coleshill move onto 205 after 14 overs, with both Barnaby and Casper picking up wickets. With Miles and Thomas both having to leave early due to Mike's "Saga Birthday Celebrations" the Bash team plundered the Blast team for reserves and ploughed on! Jack and Krish ended the innings off with some lovely tight bowling that saw another 3 wickets go down and Coleshill finished on 217 for 10.

From the feedback afterwards on this occasion our bowling was the difference, but as friendly matches go I think everyone there felt that cricket was the winner! Many thanks to Coleshill for hosting.
