U10A won their 5th league match out of 5 with a convincing 72 run victory over 2nd place Ballinger in Division 1 South. A really outstanding team performance from all. Batting wise everyone batted well against some very decent bowling from the opposition. Particular mentions for Ruari Catherwood Smith and Eisah Saba who batted aggressively for 12 and 13 runs respectively to take the total to a very defendable 297.
The fielding was outstanding, 16 wickets were taken with 5 run outs and but for some dubious umpiring there might have been more. The team was well focussed from the first ball to the last and the competitive spirit was apparent throughout. Ballinger were never really in the chase a they lost some wickets early to some fine bowling from Jago Catherwood Smith, Jake Wilson, Ibrahim Alis and Alex Ul-Ghani. In the latter half of the inning everyone kept their discipline and the wickets kept tumbling and Ballinger kept running themselves out.
Well done to all, a very impressive disciplined performance.
