A lovely sunny mid summer evening for a game of cricket, and for the spectators the game didn't disappoint with lots of wickets, a spectacular catch and some kamikaze running. Beaconsfield fielded first and put in a very solid bowling performance, taking 11 wickets and giving away only 16 wides which is a significant improvement from prior games. The wickets were shared around but in particular Oliver Mclaughlin with 2 for 5 and Ben Taylor with 2 for 7 were outstanding, and Ben's second wicket was particularly good after a spectacular diving catch by Jasper behind the stumps (his dad could learn something from that!).
Beaconsfield then batted solidly through the inning, with a very creditable 12 from 12 balls for Oliver Mclaughlin and 11 from 10 balls for Jamie Berry. The last pair,Jamie Berry and Aiden Gajadhar, were particularly entertaining with some interesting running between the wickets. In the end Beaconsfield only lost 4 wickets and all were run outs, so overall a very good team performance. Well done to all and especially to the younger players in the team playing up from U7 and U9.
